Stephen H. Staton, CPA, Partner
Stephen H. Staton is a partner of our firm. He began his public accounting career with us after earning his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from James Madison University in 1990. Steve has spent his career working with owners of privately-held companies in a variety of industries. He serves as a trusted advisor to numerous companies on issues of growth and development, business continuity strategies, and helping clients achieve both short-term and long-term goals.
As an active business leader in the community, Steve has presented various seminars to the Insurance, Banking and Commercial Construction Industries on topics including financial statements, identifying and mitigating fraud and practice development. He is also a Board Member and past Treasurer of A Wider Circle, serves as Chairman of the Board at Mary of Nazareth Catholic School and is a chair of the Stewardship Council at Our Lady of Visitation Parish. He was recently honored for his volunteer work by Hearts and Homes for Youth, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to help troubled, abused and neglected Maryland Youth. Steve also proudly oversees the firm’s annual Golf for Charity event that has raised in excess of $250,000 for local area charities.
Steve is a member of various associations including the Associated Builders and Contractors Metro Chapter, the Mid-Atlantic Surety Association, the American Subcontractors Association and the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. He is a licensed CPA in Maryland and Virginia, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
In his free time, Steve enjoys discussing business issues during a round of golf, coaching sports and traveling with his family.
