Lanigan, Ryan, Malcolm & Doyle 23rd Annual Golf for Charity Tournament

May 10, 2015

On Monday May 2015, we hosted our 23rd Annual Golf for Charity Tournament in support of the Maryland Family Network and Hearts & Homes for Youth, raising over $10,000 in donations.  The Maryland Family Network is an advocate for quality child care, early education, and family support. Hearts & Homes for Youth helps abused, homeless, and troubled children by providing counseling, advocacy, educational support, workforce readiness, and life skills training.  Both charities are recognized for their efforts in improving lives; which has been the vision of our annual Golf for Charity Tournament.

The event began with a shotgun start on a sunny day at the Argyle Country Club. Golfers enjoyed a wonderful round on the challenging par 71 course which also included a Longest Drive Contest, a Closest to the Pin Contest, Chipping and Putting Contests.  Winners included:

Scott Simpson, Mike Burlbaugh, Steve Purdy and Jill Burk, who won the Longest Drive Contest.
Pat Halley, Adam Abramowitz and Dave Malcolm, who won the Closest to the Pin Contest.
Alan Peskowitz, Mark Cronin, Dan Cronin, and Jim Cronin, who won the Putting Contest.
Remmie Butchko, Matt Simmons, Kurt Denchfield and Josh Notes who won the Chipping Contest.
John Shaffer, Tom Davis, Mel Laney and Jeff Shirring posted a score of 61 to win the tournament.

The award ceremony concluded the event with our Partner Steve Staton presenting the charities with $5,000 checks.  The tournament, contest, and raffle winners were then recognized and awarded with their prizes.

The event was a success and on behalf of the Maryland Family Network and Hearts & Homes for Youth, we extend our sincere gratitude to all of the sponsors, prize and cash donors and participants for their generous support.
